Cleaning and maintenance is important for soft play areas because it helps to reduce the risk of illness and disease for children, and keeps the soft play equipment in good condition for a longer use life. Here are some tips to clean and maintain soft play equipment:
Cleaning
Mild soap and water solution: Mix a small amount of dish liquid or nontoxic cleaner into a bucket of warm water. Keep the water temperature lower than 40°C. For pure white fabrics, dilute bleach can be used. Avoid organic solvents, gasoline or corrosive chemicals such as acids and alkalis.
Soft cloth, sponge or soft brush: Use firm pressure to scrub the soft play surfaces, especially on areas with stuck-on grime. Avoid dipping the soft play leather in water.
Air dry: Air dry the soft play equipment or removable PU leather cover in a cool and ventilated place. Do not dry it under sun. Make sure the equipment is completely dry before allowing children to play on it.
Maintenance
Check for damage, look for rips, loose pieces, or indentations. Replace any damaged items.
Check connections and nuts and bolts, make sure everything is secure and tightened evenly.
Pay extra attention to moving parts, these parts may wear out faster due to heavy use.
